Royal Cleaners, 814 San Pablo Avenue
Three generations under one awning
Royal Cleaners is a family-run dry cleaner that has served the Bay Area for over 60 years. Today it is in its third generation, and the counter in Albany is still the place where you hand over a garment and meet the people who will look after it.
60
years serving the Bay Area, from the same family, on the same avenue.
3rd
generation behind the counter, still holding to one idea: treat every customer like royalty.
100
years of experience between the people who clean, press and alter your clothes.
The family has stayed in business by taking the work seriously and staying open to doing it better. The staff are professionally trained and accredited, and together they bring the best approach to preserving and taking care of your clothing. Like the name says, the aim is a royal experience and complete satisfaction.
The machines in the back are technologically advanced as well as environmentally safe, and the shop meets both local and state regulations. Royal Cleaners also proudly supports the LGBT community, and the sign in the storefront says it plainly: Albany stands united against hate.

What the neighbours say after a few years
“Prices aren't cheap, but reasonable. The important thing is that they've never damaged anything, and they really know how to get tough stains, like ink, out of my shirts. What more can you say about a dry cleaner? They clean stuff, and don't give you no guff.”
“Excellent service, very timely and always at the highest quality. Seriously - my shirts are always starched to perfection and suits go in dirty and come out spotless.”
“Best cleaner in the East Bay! Reasonable prices, personable services. Highly recommended.”
“They got some red wine stains out of a white top which I have tried several times to remove on my own using various stain removers. Great job, Royal Lady!”
“Excellent and friendly service and very good pricing. Highly recommended!!”
